Welcome to the Tyee Lake Project Boundary Amendment and Relicensing Website
Welcome

Southeast Alaska Power Agency (SEAPA) is beginning the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) relicensing of the 22.5-megawatt (MW) Tyee Lake Hydroelectric Project (FERC No. 3015) (Project) and working to amend the FERC Project Boundary. The relicensing is a multi-year, federally mandated process that has the ultimate goal of obtaining a new operating license for the Project. This new license will dictate Project operations and associated Project resource management measures for the next 40 years. The amendment would remove the 79.5-mile transmission line from the FERC Project Boundary, as it no longer meets the definition of a “primary transmission line” pursuant to the Federal Power Act Section 3(11).
FERC requires SEAPA to collaborate and consult with stakeholders, including federal, state, and local agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), Alaska Native tribes, and other interested parties throughout these multi-year processes. SEAPA and stakeholders will work together to address operational, economic, and environmental issues associated with the Project.
SEAPA welcomes you to the Tyee Lake Project Boundary Amendment and Relicensing website and hopes that the site serves as a helpful and informative public resource throughout the processes. If you have any questions or concerns, please visit the Contact Us page.
